京都では建築物の高さ規制が厳しく、周囲の山には展望に適したところが少ないことから夜景スポットは少ないが、清水寺が夜間拝観ができる時期には境内から京都市内が見渡せる。盆地地形なので、高い所から見渡せば山に囲まれた平地の部分に、街の光が広がります。また東山では3月上旬に町がライトアップされる「京都花灯路（はなとうろう）は今年で最後になったが、夜には二寧坂、八坂の塔やねねの道など、灯ろうが美しく通りを飾る。日本の和風建築の美とも言える街並みが、情緒がある明かりを見せてくれる。昼間とはひと味違った京都の姿を楽しんでください。
